Real Writers: Perceptions of Writer Identity
Identity requires recognition, and our own hesitation to claim the identity of writer is rooted in a lack of recognition by the public, our students, our teachers, and even ourselves.

I was second author on an article that was published in English Journal for undergraduate research. The article is about how high school students conceptualize what it means to be a “real writer.” The goal of the research was to help those in writing education can help their students claim the writer identity for themselves.
